Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information BTeleCamera ("the app," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What information do we collect?
Camera & microphone
When you tap record, the app captures video and audio directly from your device's camera and microphone. This footage is written straight to a video file and saved to your device's Photos library. We do not receive, store, or have access to your recordings at any point — they never leave your device through this app.
Script text
Text you type or paste into the script editor is saved only in the app's local settings on your device, so it's there the next time you open the app. It is never transmitted anywhere.
App settings
Preferences like font size, box position and size, mirror mode, and border style are stored locally on your device in the same way.
Permissions
The app requests access to your Camera, Microphone, and Photos library (add-only — the app can save new items but cannot read your existing photos or videos). You can review or revoke any of these at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
Diagnostic data (automatically collected)
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects a crash report: device model, OS version, app version, the technical stack trace of the crash, and an anonymous installation identifier. This is used solely to find and fix bugs, and is not linked to any personal profile, since the app has no accounts.
Advertising data
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. We do not request tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency), so ads are served on a non-personalized basis rather than built from a profile of your activity elsewhere. Google's ad SDK still processes standard ad-serving data (such as ad requests and impressions) as described in Google's own privacy policy, linked below.
2. How do we use this information?
- To record and save video at your direction — the core function of the app.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs, using Firebase Crashlytics reports.
- To check, once per launch, whether the installed app version still meets a minimum supported version, using Firebase Remote Config. This check sends only your app version and bundle identifier — no personal data.
- To show and measure advertising through Google AdMob, which is how the app stays free.
3. Who do we share information with?
We don't sell your information. The only sharing that happens is through the third-party services the app is built on, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
3.1 Google Firebase
| Services used | Crashlytics, Remote Config |
|---|---|
| Data involved | Crash reports and device/app diagnostics (Crashlytics); app version and bundle ID (Remote Config) |
| Why | Bug fixing and enforcing minimum supported app versions |
| Their policy | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
3.2 Google AdMob
| Service used | AdMob (interstitial ads) |
|---|---|
| Data involved | Standard, non-personalized ad-serving data |
| Why | Showing ads that keep the app free |
| Their policy | policies.google.com/privacy |
3.3 Apple
Your recordings are saved to your device's Photos library, which Apple stores and — if you have it enabled — syncs via your own iCloud account under your own Apple Account settings. We have no access to this and no role in it.
4. How long do we keep information?
- Recordings and script text — stay on your device for as long as you keep them; delete them yourself at any time, or remove everything by deleting the app.
- Crash and diagnostic data — retained by Firebase according to its standard retention periods.
5. How do we keep information safe?
The app is built local-first: your recordings and script never pass through a server we operate. There's no account or password to be compromised, because none exists. The few things that are sent off-device (crash reports, ad requests, the version check) travel over encrypted connections. That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
6. Your privacy choices
- Turn off Camera, Microphone, or Photos access any time in iOS Settings — the app will ask again only if you try to use the related feature.
- Delete the app to remove all script text and settings stored locally.
- Delete individual recordings directly from your Photos library at any time.
- There is no account to delete, because the app never asks you to create one.
7. Children's privacy
BTeleCamera is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we'll address it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
